Fall Fun Downtown

Every fall, local businesses and groups build scarecrows around downtown for the city’s Scarecrow Contest. It is a great excuse for fall photos with the kids.

In 2026, entries were capped at 50 and winners were announced at the Fall Festival on October 17. Dates for 2027 are not announced yet.

Scarecrows on the Square is part of fall in downtown McDonough, and the 2026 winners were named at the free Fall Festival. Registration has opened in late August, so start planning early if your business or group wants to enter.
